Planning a FOCUS to WebFOCUS Conversion

Thinking of implementing a Web-based solution that integrates your existing legacy resources? This course discusses the challenges of converting a character-based legacy FOCUS application to WebFOCUS. You will perform a hands-on conversion of a sample FOCUS application with a CRTFORM menu and FOCEXECs to a Web-based structured ad hoc application.

You Will Learn How To:
  • Examine the five phases of a migration plan, especially planning and analysis
  • Import files from legacy applications into WebFOCUS
  • Employ WebFOCUS conversion techniques, including drill-down reports and working with graphs
  • Publish reports as customized launch pages on the Web
  • Enhance reports with StyleSheets and JavaScript
  • Integrate FOCEXECs with HTML for structured ad hoc deployment
Who Should Take This Course:
Experienced FOCUS users and developers who will be involved in moving a FOCUS application to WebFOCUS.

Prerequisite:
Courses 125, Dialogue Manager
Courses 126, Intermediate Reporting, or equivalent FOCUS experience. Working knowledge of MS Windows or NT.
